Many people use these forums to complain about service from dealers and companies so we should also post when the dealers do things right.

I had a problem with the battery on my Kalkhoff Agattu i8 HS which I bought from a member here in the summer. It was well within the warranty period and after I supplied 50 Cycles with a copy of the original invoice they honoured that and supplied me with a new battery ordered from Germany. This after first sending me a new charger which didn't fix it.

Not every dealer will transfer a warranty and this company and Woosh are among the few which do. I don't know why they all don't really. You can pay upwards of three grand for some bikes and so if you then sell it after a few months you would expect the warranty to be transferred. Anyway full marks for 50 Cycles who do allow warranties to be passed on with the bike.

Apart from one incident, a few years ago, 50 Cycles have always been very fair with me. Because they almost exclusively sell Kalkhoff and have done so for many years, they know the bikes and their idiosyncrasies inside out. Recently, I needed a headset for my Pro-Connect and 50 Cycles ensured that it was through my letterbox within 24 hours.

I recently rode one of the new Pro Connect 10s. It's a great bike built to the usual Kalkhoff brick $h!t house standards. Very powerful and capable. I'd certainly buy one if I needed a new bike.

Hmmm! Fraid that has not been my expierence so far with 50 cycles, bought a clearance bike from them.
Duefully assembled bike, put battery on charge, took for a test ride only for the battery to fail.

In fairness I did contact them 2 days after I got it on the road ,which was a weekend, but every time I contacted them some body else took the call or answered my emails, so nobody knew what my problem was, very frustrating .
Awaiting a new battery Tuesday,,.... But such has been my experience so far, I am hoping the quality of the bike precludes me from using their after sales services again.

Over to the after sales manager of 50 cycles for an explanation?

Great friendly service, deal and chat from Charles at the Shoreham branch. Tried all the interesting models he had in. Well worth the diversion in a trip back to Bournemouth from Norfolk recently. Also managed to slip in a ride to Brighton on our bikes before heading home.

On the subject of Norfolk. Had a great trip, hired VW T5 to carry our bikes in, never like having them on a rear towbar carrier if we could get caught in rain. Nothing ruins bikes like being blasted road spray/grime, it gets in everything. We can get wet, but not the bikes. Bikes sit well on Thule towbar carrier just lashed in place in the back, didn't move an inch. Would love one, but 'the chairperson' at a recent management committee meeting said "you can get MANY weeks of hire for the price of one of them;).

The other thing we discovered is that Norfolk ain't flat (only in parts!) at one place we went down a 18% hill. On one 30miler we had a total ascent of 1800ft, we get that in rolling Dorset. Great cycling through quiet lanes tho.image.jpg
