Glazed brakes?

I think I might have glazed my rear brakes but before I start taking anything apart I thought I'd just ask the more experienced folk here whether that's the most likely explanation for my brakes squealing and whether there's anything else I should be looking out for. I've got a Wisper 705 with hydraulic disc brakes and it's a new bike so it's only done about 20 miles.

I have to brake as I go round a corner starting a downhill section of road and normally I'd then release the brakes for a bit, build up a bit of speed, brake, release etc - the downhill is around half a mile long and a bit twisty. Yesterday I had a couple of free-range chickens decide to make my life difficult! Just after the bend, they ran pell mell in front of me for a good 50 or 60 meters, criss crossing each other so there was no chance of dodging round them. That meant I had to keep the brakes on (fairly hard) to avoid tangling with them. Soon after that, I realised the rear brake had started squealing.

I haven't had any oil or lube near the bike yet so I don't think it can be that although I'll give the discs a wipe down with a solvent just to rule that out.

Anything else I should be checking out?

20 miles.. As they're new, it sounds like you might benefit from breaking them in a bit, with a few hard stops. Worth a try.

I find mine will squeal a bit if they have had water on them, rain for example.
It wears off.

Talking of wet brakes and squeal.. I just changed my v-brakes to these.

CLARKS ELITE TRIPLE CONTOUR BICYCLE ALL WEATHER MTB ATB V-BRAKE PADS BLOCKS PAIR

They're excellent at 72mm (standard brake blocks are 70mm) and have changed my opinion on v-braking ability. Recommended.

Thanks folks. I didn't think I was going to get out today but gave the discs a rub with some alcohol, checked tyre pressures etc ready for the next opportunity and lo and behold it brightened up enough this afternoon for a quick tootle up to Stanegate.

The shop did bed them in before I got the bike LeighPing but I did a couple of hard stops on the first flattish bit anyway, ta.

I had watched a couple of vids but I hadn't seen the washing up liquid trick - thanks for that Trex. I'll keep that one in mind if I need it.

So far so good though, no squealing today so maybe I was worrying prematurely or maybe the alcohol and couple of hard stops helped.

Great video trex, I like the tip about rubbing the pads together with washing-up liquid, but also not to leave degreaser on the pads, which is what I normaly do thinking it's a good idea but usually still get some squealing.
