Giant Road e+1 Hill Climbing and Noise test

Having ridden it for 200 miles or so and feeling very much at home on it I thought I would try one of the killer hills around here. Its not one I go up often but I have been up on the Scott/Bosch before so was interested to compare.
Well, It blasted up in Sport mode unbelievably quicker than I have ever done it before with minimal motor noise so well impressed!!

On the way back I got it rolling out of Silsden at a cracking pace.. Until I swallowed a couple of flies and had to stop..
This bike rolls so well.. not sure why exactly with it being so heavy..

Ah I see, but it only looks like a mole hill.. what about a real hill?

most ppl walk up that its that steep but i have a lot more gear range and no cut off speed.

my bike is also not much more heavy at 20kg.

im in eco mode or tour tho as no point blasting off.

its not my time tho he rid half way and i toed him the rest got him the pb tho pmsl.

i cant see any normal mtb doing it in under 3 mins tho unless there god.

Does Not apply cos it was a trip over the hill to daughter's house to deliver a bag of plums...
Not racing anyone .. I was just saying that the new Yamaha powered Giant is quicker up BIG hills ( the yorkshire types) by a big margin than my bosch powered bike, which is essentially the same as yours as your dongle is of no help when you are over 15% gradient. The max on the ilkley run is 23% if memory serves. I just named you because you are our Flash of the biking world...

i had 2 bars left after that ride on my 500w batt and took my old one but my wrists were finished after that.

you just cant go fast as you can or you will fly off line and in to a tree or loose the front end and just crash anyway.

So whats the point of risking the venues insurance by riding a motorbike on their trails then? Why not do everyone a favour and take the dongle off??

its the forest of dean and they dont care plus i have seen moto x bikes up there so what?

on the flat my m8 would leave me for dust with out a dongle there to slow to keep up with fit riders.

I know the forest managers there and the trail centre builders and I assure you they do care. I grew up in that area and have raced their many many times. Its not about how fast you do or do not go, its about the fact you are riding an illegal vehicle on their trails and neither they nor you are insured for it - its a bloody nightmare and if you have a crash with someone on their trails their risk assessments won't cover them for you being there, and your insurance won't cover you should you or anyone else involved end up in hospital.
