Hi

Never had an electric bike before and am looking for one for my girlfriend. She cycles approx 4-5 miles a day. No major hills, just tired cycling home after work.

Budget is approx 500 quid, and the one she likes the look of is from Fun2ride and is the Fun 1. Has anybody on here dealt with this company or used one of their bikes before. I'm a bit reluctant to order one of these bikes without seeing it first, but if anybody has any good or bad experiences with these, then it would be great to hear them.

Thanks.

Theyre scooter style arent they from memory?I knew some one who bought one for around £600.He needed help cycling on hills as he had a disability. The bike wouldnt make it up the hills with out pedaling and it was over 40 kgs.He returned it and lost £200,either on charges or freight.

ps. I would spend time on here looking at numerous threads and posts like yours about new people looking for advice. There are a lot of pitfalls( or can be) with ebikes and its probably better to stick to the tried and tested names repeatedly found on here.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, they do scooter styles as well but this looks more like a bike. I would prefer her to get a standard electric bike from a tried and tested manufacturer, so i will see if I can change her mind.

Don't buy from fun2ride - they will rip you off!

I hope you didn't end up buying anything from Fun2Ride, as I just got ripped off by them myself. They don't offer any kind of warranty, only a 7-day money back (minus exporbitant postage of course), so if their cheap and nasty goods break down you are on your own.

Either shop locally or look in your local freeads paper if you want a cheap bike - I've been riding since 2007 on an even older Sakura!
