Front hub motor cable position.

Regarding cable entry on front hub motor.
On installation videos, some fit pointing down while others pointing up. Which is correct?
I think down so rain don't run down the cable into the motor.
Create a drip loop like in outside electrics I guess it's called.

Definitely pointing down to form a drip loop.
Reason being, if the cable enters the axle from the top then water runs, unseen, into the axle and tracks along the cable into the motor itself. This then causes all sorts of rust problems.
I know the shorter route looks tidier but it will bite you in the end.
I have around 14,000 miles on my front hub with no such problems.
