Hi all,
am I right in assuming that most if not all of the front hub kits have a 10mm spindle? My old Halfords mtb has a 9mm spindle I think ( needs a 15 mm spanner ). I guess I'd need to modify the slot?

Thanks
Ashley

if your front wheel has a quick release skewer, the fork jaws are 9mm wide.
The motor axle is 10mm wide x 12mm deep.
You will need to file off a little bit to drop the motorwheel in.
I use a dremel for this but files will do the same job.

When filing drop outs you will notice the seat of the D/O is radiused be careful not to square the corners otherwise metal fatigue/fracture will occur.

A bit like the DH Comets of yester year decompression occurred due to metal fatigue at the corners of the square windows, eventually they found round windows were the answer. Though you won't suffer from decompression you could suffer a face plant if a failure occurred at speed.
