Hi guys

I will have the bafang rear motor really soon to fit my dahon jack d7.

I realised the D7 rear wheel is cassette not freewheel so I have to source another freewheel for the motor.

Just wondering is all the rear motor a freewheel?

I could not find 7 speed freewheel with 11-30t. Do you know where I can find it?

Thanks
Pat

Don't forget the Bafang CST takes a cassette and the Bionx(?).

Thanks Dave. I have not seen anyone reviewing this motor yet.

Also, the price of this motor is near three times more than SWXH with the same power.

Any advances of this CST motor over SWXH?

Thanks

This Motor is significantly larger and at least twice as powerful as the SWXH. Don't take any notice of the 250-500w rating. Even in 250w version, it'll drag you up a hill quicker than a Bosch motor. I suspect that that rating is just for the European market to get an EN15194 certificate.

The Cyclezee free-wheel is made by DNP. They do the job. I have three of them on my bikes and they all work perfectly.

Thanks dave. Why even they have the same power rating and the actual power is different?

So if I get 250w cst motor, is to still a legal bike?

Yes, the fact is 99% of all motors will produce peak powers way above the nominal 250w rating. As Dave says, the 250w label is just that... a label to get past EN15194.

Only an untampered bike with an official EN15194 label on it is legal. Anything else would have to be argued out in court. If your bike does less than 15mph, which is easy to test, you've got a better chance of winning the argument. If you had the Bafang CST motor with a controller set to 40 amps, you're unlikely to win.

As far as different bikes with EN 15194 certificates having more power than others, there's big watts and little watts, and their size probably depends on how much financial clout the manufacturer has, and how well connected they are to testing agencies.

Thanks Frank. I will contact John about this?

Just wondering what made for this freewheel? is it a good quality?

Pat
Just a quick word to say I bought this from the same source and i've had no problems with quality. No name on them so can't say who manufactures them.
