Maybe.

If there were a significant change in the power limits, the current speed limit would look a bit silly.

Maybe that is the intention, increase the power limit so that eBikes that can go faster (breaking the speed limit) can be openly purchased.

After all in the modern way of thinking by our politicians breaking minor laws is acceptable.

EPJ holidayed in the alps and would do the the ascent up to places like Jungfrau etc,etc, he became a emtb ambassodor for Giant I think but I don't know what he is doing now. His day job was as a highly skilled carpenter and woodmans with an eye on creating works of art out of any bit of tree.

Many a kibosh has been unleashed by concerned better halves upon risky endeavours, luckily none have ever cared enough (or managed to exert enough control) to limit mine, and long may that continue. Mind you, I take zero risks these days, must be getting old...
