Does anyone know the specs of the batteries used in the Formula E cars, or are the car details kept secret like Formula 1?

Couldn't spot anything on the official website, but saw that one of the cars was running 150Kw of power on the in car display.

Guess the motors aren't Bafangs either lol

The battery is designed by Williams Advanced Engineering, the presenters did a little item on them in todays coverage apparently they use/ have 150 li-on cells in the units. Max usable energy 28 kw/h and 200kw peak power have to be under 200kg for the FIA regs,
1000v is the max voltage cwah would like that.
Cars are built by Spark Racing Technology , major component suppliers are; Chassis/Dallara, Battery /Willams, Engine / MaClaren, 5sp Gearbox /Hewland.
0=100kmh < 3 secs and 250km/h for 1/2hr.

I guarantee you that battery would only satisfy cwah for an afternoon. The next day he'd be straight back on here with a new set of challenges:

1. Does anyone know the drag coefficient for a folding bike travelling at the speed of sound?

2. I want to carry three people. Do you think it's legal to have someone on my shoulders as well as on the crossbar?

3. How can I attach a caravan to a Raleigh shopper?
