Hello,I'm working on a Thron Focus2 27 1R impulse 2.its a spares repair project.The first stumbling block I've encountered is there's nothing happening when you plug the components together.the cells on the battery are great but the voltage from the BMS is 8 v .The battery switches on lights flash etc I also held the button down and did a reset ,that made no difference.
The BMS is made by BMZ I reckon the problem is there does anyone know where I might get one?
Could I substitute a BMS from say a kalkoff impulse 2 Endeavour Battery maybe.

It’s great that you’ve checked the battery cells and identified low voltage from the BMS. Since you’re considering a replacement, it might be worth checking with specialist e-bike retailers or forums for specific recommendations on compatible BMS units, especially if the Kalkhoff Impulse 2 Endeavour can be used as a replacement.

I dont know your bike, but google suggests the battery may have a minimum 50 recharge cycles warranty??
And a bms which records a recharging cycles count in s/w {ooer;(} If your battery has less than 50 cycles and such warranties are honoured regardless of being original purchaser or not ?? - tho got to be worth checking out.. Otherwise..

How does the battery connect? If just the 2 main power wires great, however if there are additional superfluous communication wires? - Odds are that the manufacturer has engaged in protective practices to limit your battery options to approved models only.

Some BMS in such batteries have been known to self brick on disconnection from power or other signs of user maintenance or diy. And are not generally available to the public or even authorised maintenance engineers.

So if a dealer cant sort out a battery repair its a replacement job, but id bet they will offer you a deal on a new bike for just a lil more than a battery may cost. and the bike will be there while the battery may take a while to arrive..

If no battery coms are involved, PHEW!! - any suitably configured bms should be fine..

Hello thanks for taking time to reply,being a BMZ BMS it's got I believe canbus communication wires as well as your + and -, the battery came to me opened so warranty is out, getting dealer too order a new BMS is not easy when you've no contacts.Got any ideas.

Yes I've had some issues with Bosch batteries they apparently brick if you don't follow procedures.BMZ are quite high spec ,it's a canbus system,I might have to substitute the BMS as well as the accompanying controller.Still any contacts or advice welcome.
