Hi I have a Focus Paralane2 with the Fazua evation drive. It's barely two months old in a size small and when riding in the wet the battery, battery holder and frame are allowing water in. It's already killed one battery and I can't imagine what it's doing to the internal electrics and components. The battery catch has been replaced but still water gets in. On my last trip to the bike shop (who have been very helpful) they poured water on a new stock bike and the same happened which would suggest a design fault. Has anyone else got this bike (9.6 carbon frame small) and had the same issue? Anyone suggest a fix? If you ride predominantly in the dry it's worth checking the battery, frame etc after a wash.

I never wash my bikes but if I clean, I use a damp soapy rag to wipe down or a rag with muck off applied. I also have some of that waterless car polish and that gets used as well.

Riding in the UK and probably most of the other countries the bike is sold in it's inevitable it will get wet besides having any electrical system on a bike not water tight is crazy for sure.

All I can think of is to identify where its coming in, clean the areas and add say electricians tape, wide version, to those areas.
As someone else mentioned, as none of us live in the middle of the Sahara Desert, any bike sold in our climate, needs to be designed to resist water incursion....I see it as being a very poor design that doesn't.
My very cheap Chinese bike is beautifully sealed, except for the throttle - sadly! But I have learned to keep a cheap, thin, plastic bag handy to keep water out of that now....but only when it rains!
regards
Andy
