Fitting new controller wiring question

did it twice nothing seemed any different I must have done something wrong because the third time it worked as you said it should. cheers for that wouldnt have sorted this without your help.
Only thing that isn't right is when i scroll through power settings from high to no power mode the wheel still has power if i pedal it doesn't turn off.
I can live with that though now the wife is happy

Some bikes/controllers are like that. there are two ways around it. If you don't have a throttle, splice a switch onto one of the brake switch wires. When you short those two wires, the power cuts. If you have two brake switches, you can simply cut one off and put a switch on the wire.

If you have a throttle and want it work, but not the pedal assist, cut the red 5v wire to the PAS and put a switch on it with wires run up to the handlebars. The switch will enable/disable the 5v, so the PAS goes on/off with it.
