I think it uses a Brose motor. Like Bosch, Brose is a German company and has a good reputation.

Thanks, that's reassuring as I hadn't heard of Brose.
I hope to start commuting as soon as I get it, I can't wait! I'll just have to leave all my wet clothes dripping. This has to be one of the wettest winters in the 15 years I've been cycling

The Brose motor is not as common as the Bosch, which has become ubiquitous.

But it's been around for a good few years, and might be a bit pokier than the Bosch, which is no ball of fire.

Main thing is you've ridden it and like it.
