Finally managed to join

Hi from Cumbria. Took a while but finally managed to jump through all the hoops to join the forum. I couldn't understand where the error was. It needed pedelecs and not pedalec. Can I suggest to the mods that you indicate which line is incorrect. I don't want to see another jigsaw again

As I am getting older I find bike riding, especially hills getting a lot harder so I am starting to look at e-bikes. I am hoping I get get a bit of guidance here as it appears to be a bit of a minefield. I had a trip to Halford last night but that will probably be the subject of a posting in the appropriate place.

Hi and welcome Wrongway, Halfords may not be the rightway Wrongway, may be best to check out specialist ebike shops instead. Thisway you can most probably try out the different makes and models /styles. Once you have narrowed it down might be good to hire the one you think you like most and test it for comfort and fit for a couple of hours or so before making a purchase. Is good idea to go for a larger battery than you think you need because once you get the bug it's quite likely you will want to venture further afield. As with normal bikes, look at whether you need a rack and mudguards, rigid frame or suspension etc. Maybe a go anywhere trekking bike might be more suitable if like me you get fed up of traffic breathing down your neck.
