I saw these at Cycle 2008,Im going to buy some when I finally chose an ebike or convert my own Dawes.I like the idea as I wobble like hell when I look over my shoulder

Winkku. Cycle safely with indicator, mirror and running lights.
oooh, they look good !

although I do like the bycynals because they integrate the lights as well, and it is just one unit at the front. Although having a wing mirror would be good.

so this winkky, surely you need both left and right for indicating, but you can't buy the left one at the moment ?

The left hand version is available but I doubt many people feel the need for it, I have little trouble turning left but my being invisible makes right hand turns more awkward. Turning right at mini roundabouts is a particular problem, approaching traffic rarely stops to give way to me.
Shame there is no way of fixing it to a Wisper, I'd be wary anyway as it's a bulky thing so even more stuff to carry around.

This was in the box marked 3 at the top of the page

yes, but it seems a bit strange launching a product that only indicates right :) and you have to wait to buy the left version.

I also think having running lights on the side of the bike could cause confusion to motorists etc.

I would like a cheap "strapon" side mirror though. Anybody recommend one I can put easily on pro-connect ?

cheers

Mat

Strap on mirrors are a bit poor. They wobble more than a regular one and so you get a poor image. The best mirror by far is the cateye BM500G. Big mirror, very steady, excellent visibility.

so being a bit dim here, do I have to "mutilate" my handlebar to put one of these on my proconnect ?

Not really, just cut off the end cap of the handgrip rubber to enable the mirror mount to be inserted into the bar and tightened in there. You could always keep that end cap and stick it back on at any future time.

My proconnect is from June 2008 - it just had a push-in cap into the end of the handlebars. Flick it out with a small screw driver and insert the Cateye 500.
