Hi

I have a 48v (16s) 10 amp ping battery that I would like to sell, it has gone through 20-30 cycles maybe. works great.
(plus charger)

what would be a fair price to demand? I will probably try locally at first, then maybe eBay.

Cheers

can you prove its capacity with a watts-up meter?

i guess a fair price would be around £150-200. 2wh/£ is the price for new ping

Thanks :)

Did you mean one of these:
Watts Up Meter - Storage

then no, I getting out of ebiking for now, so there wouldn't be any point of buying one.

But I could make a rough estimation, with a normal kwh meter, run the bat down to the low voltage cutoff kicks in, then measure the wh drawn while charging until the bat is full, adjusting for loss in the charging process of course (10%?)

Its a nice bat. Would be a shame if it wasn't used.

well that depends on whether your controller can take it, I have 2 ebikes one has a 24v controller and the other a 36v controller, they work perfectly at 48v.

Also the bike would likely not be “legal” any more, since you are technically upping the wattage rating by 25%. (and more volts faster bike ;)

Can a 48v be used on a 36v 250w motor or will it blow something
Some controllers are safety limited, for example the eZee 36 volt controller cuts out at 44 volts, which is just above the actual 41.5 volts of a fully charge new lithium battery.

Other controllers can blow if fed with excess voltage so there is a risk in trying. Of course the actual fully charged voltage of a nominal 48 volt lithium battery will probably be round about 55 volts and you'd need a charger to suit.

If your 36 volt system did accept that nominal 48 volts, your power and top assist speed would potentially increase by some 33%.
