Ezee Quonda Battery

My wife has owned a Ezee Quonda for 6 years and the battery has expired.
I have just purchased a Wisper 905E with a 36 volt ,11amp polymer battery.
If i purchased another Wisper battery could this be adapted for use on the Quondo, and would it be suitable

Why would you not just buy another Ezee battery for your wifes bike ?

Although I believe you could adapt most batteries especially if you have a rack on the back......just seems simplest to buy the correct one for the bike as long as they are still available......and I think they are.....

Would the battery charger for the wisper be compatable for the Ezee battery has it got the same connection

If eZee still use the HP charger, that's the same as Wisper use, but the connector is different. To get over that you'd need to make up a jumper lead to connect between the Wisper charger and eZee battery, or wire an extra lead into the back of the Wisper connector and terminate that with a 3 way XML connector for the eZee battery. That way the charger would have two connector leads.

To add to what Flecc has said, eZee do use the HP charger, the later ones are 4amp, but do you not have the original charger supplied with the Quando? It would still be suitable provided it is for Li Ion batteries and not Ni Mh.

Wisper also use HP chargers but the connector may be different, does it fit your expiered eZee battery?

The image below shows the eZee type charger and connector. For the UK they are supplied with 3 pin 13amp plug.

That Quando battery and charger will be NiMh from six years ago John. The Quando was the last model to be switched to lithium, in 2007, a year after the other models.

I believe Wisper use "kettle" connectors, later ones with the rotated earth pin. These are difficult to get hold of, hence my suggestion to wire into the existing one and have a permanent flylead with the XML connector on it.

The battery and charger for the Ezee are NI-MH, the connections are not compatable with the Wisper, i had hoped the new polymer battery would have been similar for both. Sadly I have not the skilled ability of Flec so i will have to bite the bullet and by a replacement battery and charger.

The old battery shows 42Volt after recharge but then only lasts half a mile.
I hope the Wisper proves as good as the Quando.
