It's the battery Matt, storing a lithium batery for 6 months without regular charges can kill it. In addition, these symptoms are well known with Phylion batteries, I believe they are no longer used by eZee.

You can buy a new battery in various capacities from Cyclezee.

eZee stopped using Phylion batteries in the last decade, Matt's Phylion could be as much as 9 years old and well past it's life expectancy.

eZee batteries have improved considerably since then and the latest generation with Sony 18650 cells have been on the market for a couple of years now with not a single recorded failure during that time.

People often ask me how long will a battery last, that is always difficult to answer, but what I do say is that if looked after properly we expect them to last for at least double the 2 year warranty period.

Everybody that I heard of that had a battery re-celled was disappointed with the results. My advice: Do it yourself or not at all.

New eZee battery prices start at £350 for the 36v 11Ah VP including delivery within the UK mainland and 2 year warranty, not sure how price compares with a refurb from TETS?
