Ezee F Series Sale

I see that 50cycles has a limited number of the Forte and Forza models at £250 off, so be quick if this is what you want.
I wonder if this is the demise of these models or are they being revamped as was the Torq recently.
My biggest reservation about these bikes however would be the battery, do the come with the recently modified Phylion or not and if they do will it prove to be sucessful?

Big discount!

They didn't get the same glowing reviews as the Kalkhoff, Torq or even Quando, Sprint, etc. Perhaps they're just not selling?

I'd assume at £250 off they'd have the pre-modification battery.

I would be annoyed if I'd just bought one last week...

Looking at it pragmatically, it's effectively a free battery, since replacements are £250, so in that sense the battery quality doesn't matter.

I would assume that if the battery developed a problem in the first 6 months, a replacement would be the modified one. After that your on your own. By the way a LiIon replacement is now £280 inc. Vat & Del.

Even better! After the replacement, a new generation battery for £30. Encore to that. :)

Prices have gone up then and you cannot get the combined charger/battery discount price and have to buy the charger separately. Hopefully it will put off anybody 'upgrading' to the li-ion from NiMH.

I feel an encore would be more appropriate if it didn't need a new battery and lasted a lot more than 6 months:rolleyes:
If you bought a car and had to fork out an additional 25% of the purchase price after 6 months to keep it going you would be pretty miffed:eek:

I know the F series has sold in much lower numbers than the Torq, but have these bike suffered the same battery problems as the Torq?

????? With £250 off in the first place, it would only be £30 extra over the original bike price for a new generation one, so that would be 2.3%, not 25%.

And if the battery failed within six months, there'd be a free replacement anyway.

Dear Fleccie, the price is £1045, forget the £250 off;)
£280 for the battery is actually 26.8% of the purchase price:p

Let's not argue over the percentages!
Clearly they aint selling at full price so Scott and Tim are cutting the price to shift them. Maybe there is a new F-series coming with upgraded batteries or maybe it marks a change in direction away from the moped/cruiser style most of us don't like towards nicer bikes...!

£1045 is a good price. If I was in the market for a bike in that price range I would consider that a much safer bet than buying an alternative marketed on ebay.

Am I correct in thinking that future versions of the F seies will be fitted with the same motor as used on the latest Torq?

I haven't heard of that John, but if they were that might give the delimitable F-series bikes (forza only?) in 26" wheels a slightly lower top speed than the new Torq in 28" wheels, although the higher power output of the F-series might also increase top speed slightly too & reduce the difference.

Ezee F series sale.

Have just taken delivery of one of the Ezee Fortes from 50cycles that were recently reduced in price. Am new to this game and haven't even had chance to ride it yet. Someone was enquiring about the type of battery that came with these bikes. Mine says Phylion on it. Is this the newest type of battery supplied with this model? I see the price has now gone up again on the website.

eZee have always used the Phylion battery company, but the battery was upgraded a little while ago to change the cut-off characteristic. Since that was done expressly for the new Torq 2 initially, yours will have that. It's only gone up in price once though, to £280 and still that. Don't get mixed up with the £305 one for the Kalkhoff bike.

Responding to John's query, it's possible, though the Sprint motor has always been a very reliable one. I think there'd be a real identity crisis though, since there would be next to no difference between the three models, so I'd think rationalisation would almost certainly follow.

All the Ezee Li-Mg batteries are made by the Phylion company Andy. I'm sure yours will be the later type as the suppliers hold minimal stocks to ensure supplies are fresh, therefore remaining stocks of the earlier type are likely to have been exhausted long ago.
