Hi I've got an 8 year old ezee conversion kit , which works intermittently. When it doesn't work I get 3 flashes then a pause then 5 flashes, is this what 8 flashes for hall sensor fault looks like? Or is it showing 2 separate faults? Wondering if the controller is faulty? Any advice gratefully received :)

Before anything, check the connector that's near the motor. By now, it's probably a right mess unless you didn't use the bike much.

3 flashes is brake sensor, so try diconnecting them to see if the problem goes away.

Hi James,
I have one of those kits and would also say check the motor plug. On my kit it's in a little black box strapped to the front forks (front hub). The three pin plug had suffered heat damage, distorting it and , very nearly, causing a short between phase wires. The heat had just started to distort the hall sense plug. I replaced the phase plug with an MT60 (still fits in the box) and it's been fine since.

As vfr says, 3 is brakes, 5 is throttle. So disconnect both (bike should still run) see if that clears it. If not chech the hall sense plug for damage.
