Hey
Bit of a long one i was silly and bought a electric moped from an old man with no paperwork .
but now i need to register with the dvla and they require a vin number.
thats the problem i cant find it anywher i have found the serial number but no vin?
its a chinese think its prob a cheap one but still it goes above the 15mph so needs to be registered any help would be greatly appreciated ty

If it hasn't been registered before, you'll have to put it through Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA), but to do that you must first apply for the VIN number to K & R as below:

Your vehicle needs a vehicle identification number (VIN) before having an IVA inspection. Apply to DVLA if it does not have one.

You'll probably be required to take it to an approved inspection station for an IVA examination. If it passes all the requirements for use on UK roads it might get nodded through, but if not, it might need a full test to get Single Vehicle Approval.

Depending on how much it's worth, the whole process could end up not worthwhile since there are fees for the more advanced tests, and getting it transported to a testing station could be costly. If it fails a testing stage the modifications to meet UK standards could be difficult and costly and there's a retesting fee.

Still, take the first easy step and see how it goes from there.

thanks mate im sure it must have had the paperwork the guy hasnt got any as he used it a few days as a mobilty then got told it needs to be registered for road use it has indicators mirrors etc

Is there a makers name on it? If so, enter it into Google to see if anyone is still selling that brand name who might be able to help. In fact a makers name and/or model name might help the DVLA to identify it to nod it through to give it a VIN.

na no make on it their is a serial number 15 didits and a number round wheel im all over google cant find it lol

Seeing it, I'm quite sure that will easily qualify.
