Hi peeps..
I'm new here, looking for some answers.
I have a carrera vengeance e spec bike. It's very new less than 2 month from halfords.. recently keep getting error 33 flash on the screen and all the lights on the battery starts flashing and lose all power completely. Halfords says that I can reset the battery by holding down the power button for 20 seconds then I'd have to plug the power supply to the battery to complete the reset. (Not good if you're half way through a bike ride with no access to a mains supply) but does anyone know what the error code 33 means?

Error 33 is a battery communication error. It's in the Vengeance manual here

Yet another HESC issue, it may seem trivial but it is annoying to owners if it keeps occurring.
Now all one has to do is try and trace the issue, most logical is the batter discharge contacts, does the battery rattle or move ? It shouldn't need it but maybe extra straps to secure it.

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm experiencing the exact same problem. When I reset the battery, it works again but always ends up having the same problem again.

My partner recently had this error on her Raleigh Array, which must use the same system. The solution that worked for us was posted by @bigarm in another thread - https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/halfords-vengeance-cutting-out.42588/#post-656694

I had a problem with the battery cutting out. sometime error 33, sometimes just blue flashing lights. It seemed like a handshake problem with the battery and canbus, its proved to be the battery holder had moved a little. Where the key is for the battery there is a cover and screw, remove that. Then under there are 2 screws, adjust screws and position of top end until battery fits snug with moving, solved my problems anyway. good luck.
Adjusted the top battery holder and it's been fine since.

To me, it's down to the design of it and the way you have to remove the battery - over time, repeatedly pushing the battery up to remove it must also push the holder bracket up the frame just a tiny bit, enough to stop the battery from seating fully on the contacts at the bottom.
