I decided that I'd head out this afternoon to carry out some more trail building.

Certainly a good day for it.

I also had a quick explore yesterday of some of the outer edges of the 500 acres of private woodland that I have sole rights to ride over. The potential is massive. :)

Slightly tricky, but still great fun.

A little bit of dust!

Hi Eddie,
Yes, the first elevation gain of Llandegla on a non-assisted bike is purgatory. When I've been with (younger, fitter) mates before I have to explain to them that I will be winching steadily up that first three miles, to leave enough energy for the remaining fun parts. Not any longer!

Certainly a lovely night for a ride. We decided to head out for some down hill fun in one the local woods, but were sadly disappointed to find that forestry work has commenced, and many of the routes were now temporarily ruined. :(

Still good be out though, and I'll probably head out again tomorrow night trying to make the most of the dry conditions.

Sadly this is no more! :(

Well that is next Saturday morning sorted.

I'd forgotten about the annual get together with a couple of the KTM lads.

30 miles and 3,200ft of p**s taking fun. :) The ride itself is pretty crap though, and if it wasn't for catching up with old pals, then I wouldn't bother. There are some fantastic long steep down hill sections, but they don't make up for the amount of road work.

Just hope that it is drier than last year, not that it matters. :)

Shame about the mud on the lens, as the lad falling into the water towards the end (4.33 onwards) was one of those classic moments. :D

So it's out tomorrow night for another night riding session. Off road commute home from work on Thursday in the dark taking in the new woodland, off road commute to work on Friday morning (supposed to be raining), the 30 mile ride with the KTM lads on Saturday, and then a 35mile mixed ride on Sunday morning to look at a job.
All in all, not a bad weeks riding ahead. :)

Just need to start planning next weeks now!

Another brilliant night to be out on the bike.

It was a damn sight colder than last nights ride, and there was quite a heavy frost. Sadly not heavy enough to give a crust on the mud, but never mind, all good fun.

I did have one bad go though. I have only ridden the section below in daylight hours and in the other direction, but decided to tackle it in the other direction tonight. I got almost to the top of this bank, when I knocked the power setting by mistake, and inadvertently knocked it off. The bike proceeding to halt, and then lifted as I braked to stop it rolling backwards, and then it was came over, and I landed square on my back, winded and with a twisted neck. I must admit that it did make me think what an idiot that I had been for trying to tackle the bank when riding on my own! What you can't see is the 3 metre or so vertical drop to the side, which goes straight into a very rocky stream bed. Not a good or safe place to loose it.

I'm heading back for another go on my commute home from work tomorrow, but at least it'll only be dusk then.
