Can I add that I'm a very 'fat' nearly 60 year old nana and never go very fast. I'm not built for speed but hubby wanted me to have a bit of power as he got fed up with me walking up every hill however slight, at least we now get somewhere, I also have very bad arthritic legs/knees so all in all I'd be more likely to be stopped for going to slow or riding on the path than for speeding.
