Check the PAS on the bottom bracket, the sensor and magnet ring can be on either LH or RHS. The gap need s to be close 1mm and also the magnet ring needs to be firm on the axle and not able to rotate within itself around axle.

Mode flashing Red one will have to look up that fault in the manual to find out what it means.

The mode light flashing red will indicate an issue I would think within the battery possibly, the manual doesn't mention any thing about mode light flashing red.
Unless you are hands on and a practical diy person then you will have to go to halfrauds to ask what the issue is.
I would ask you to measure the battery voltage but it sounds like it is beyond your capabilities.

I think the Crosscity has a 790 display. The fault code are as below. You need to say exactly which lights are flashing.

Light CombinationDefinition
indicator light flash(LOW level)abnormal current level
indicator light flash(MED level)abnormal throttle level
indicator light flash(LOW+MED level)motor phase level
indicator light flash(HIGH level)Motor hall signal level
indicator light flash(LOW+HIGH levels)brake level
indicator light flash(LOW+MED+HIGH levels)Abnormal communication level

Be sure to check that the motor connectors are pushed fully in. There is a cable running from the controller/battery end to the motor wheel and there is usually connectors at both ends.

Abnormal current load is a controller internal failure most likely a mosfet has failed, a new controller is in order but first a simple mosfet test should be under taken to pinpoint this with a meter.
One can also carry out a manual check to see it if the controller is faulty.
With no battery power try and turn the wheel fwd's, if it offers resistance then disconnect the controller either at the controller or motor wheel. If it free's up the controller is at fault, if it doesn't then the motor is at fault.

It's no use taking a bike in to a shop as they haven't the knowledge or skills to fault find, all they do is guess and swap out components hoping to find the answer which any fool can do. Doing so can get expensive if you try your self and guess wrong.

The high level (flashing on its own) is the 'Motor hall signal level', hence my recommendation to check cables and connectors first.

One can try the motor or hall connection, otherwise if no luck looks like the motor halls then.
