Tern Link D8 is largely the best bike with bigger (24") wheels. I feel there may be one of those with the new xiongda rear hub motor in my futur. There is space in the frame for the controller so you can put a light battery wherever you choose on the bike. I folds up small enough to go in a bag that you can carry on to trains and buses. Word of warning: don't say there is a bike in the bag they will charge you for it!
What we really need is an 8 speed freewheel that is as large as a 7 speed and it is really easy to make one 36 mm wide with 9 or 10 speed cogs! I can't see why the Chinese haven't figured this out by themselves yet... The market for a freewheel motor that comes with an 8 speed cogset IN THE BOX must be huge word wide? No faffing about with stretching frames and whatever.
Woosh get us a 20", 24", 26" or 28" wheel kit with that tiny xionda motor and everything mounted in a decent quality rim with 8 gears that actually fit in a standard 135 mm dropout and fortune is made! People will pay a premium for a kit above average quality I am sure.
