Ebikes upset Dogs

I don`t know about other people`s machines , but my front hub drive Batribike Quartz seems to scare dogs . The whining must unsettle them . Twice in the past week they have given me the evil eye . The last was a Bulldog , it wasn`t Harry Rednapp`s as I live in Wales . The advantages I suppose from this ,are that you won`t run one over and they won`t chase you . Talking about being chased, for several years when visiting a hamlet near the end of the Cardiff Airport runway I was usually chased by the farm Sheepdog , always on my cycle , Scooter and Motorcycle , although never in the car . Then last year I hadn`t seen him for some time and asked the Farmer about him . He said that one morning he had come out of the Farm and the dog was dead .Strangely I felt very sad at his demise as I missed him despite trying all manner of manoevres to get behind him to give him a nudge , but he was always one step ahead . Sadly he didn`t live long enough to be tested by my Ebike !

Similarly with pigeons. Riding my unpowered bikes past trees with roosting pigeons in late afternoon never brought any reaction, but my two eZee bikes, although quiet with only a faint whine at an efficient speed at that point, both caused the pigeons to panic and take flight as I approached.

The only theory I've had about this is that it's possibly an ancient instinctive fear of bee and hornet swarms.

My mate used to be a milkman and I went on the rounds with him. The milk float did upset dogs, some of them whined like crazy and started jumping all over the place.

I think bicycles in general upset dogs. I've hit 2 (not at the same time) whilst cycling. It hurt me both times and both times were on a cycle paths where the owners should of had them under control.

Dogs are a pest and pretty stupid...will bark at anything and even themselves in a mirror

This one was a sheepdog on a farm with only heifers being fattened .Sheepdogs range from very intelligent to thick , just like humans .The Farmer did say that he missed him ,as he always alerted him to passing people with either good or bad intentions . I suppose the lead on the nearby church roof may be at risk without him .

Every day I meet 2 men walking their little dogs and every day the little blighters growl and bark at me on my trike. If they weren't on leads I think I'd have run them over by now as they seem very determined to get me.
The long extending leads are a real hazard that has nearly caught me out at night - I blame the owners.

LOL.....Well.....HERE I AM !!!!!

My Poms LOVE bikes......just as long as I leave them sleeping happily on the settee in the m/home whilst I enjoy myself !!

They would only chase a bike if you were trailing a piece of cooked chicken behind it......preferably mixed with sweet potato and broccoli.......

A Bull Terrier grabbed my trouser leg recently whilst riding the a tow path along the Grand Union canal. Had it's owner not been in the vicinity, it would have gone for a swim

It is even more disconcerting when on my recumbent trike and my head is it the same level as pair of growling slavering jaws

I actually quite like dogs, but a bit like children, I couldn't eat a whole one

Well at least Poms would be too small to reach.... even on a recumbent.....and they dont growl and slaver.....not that they ever run loose around fields/campsites or anything LOL

I find dogs are indifferent to my ebike, they will run under it's wheels just like any other bike. Except for the one that tried to bit my ankles the other day, I would have kicked it but there were too many people around and I didn't want to cause an accident if I swerved.

On my normal commute I ride past a field of cows without fail they all run away from the whine of my powabyke
