Hi All,

I have the following bike with an integrated controller and battery. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Vitesse-Signal-Lightweight-Electric-VIT0011/dp/B09WJ9MT68
My display recently stopped working so I ordered another one (exactly the same KT series that I previously had, see photo) so it would be compatible with the controller.
Now when I am peddling the bike pulls back when I put pressure on the pedals. Does this sound like a configuration issue with the display? I have tried configuring different maximum speeds as well as wheel circumference but it didnt work. Maybe the Torques sensor is playing up? I have been trying to find where the torque sensor is located but I cant seem to find it. I understand it could be part of the crank bottom bracket, on the rear dropout or even inside the motor hub on the back wheel?

It's not often we see OEM bikes with KT systems so the system may be a KT custom job as it only uses a three mode lcd, this likely means a standard KT display won't work with the controller soft ware.
Non custom KT displays are for five level PAS systems .

The pictures aren't very clear if blown up but it looks like it uses a LHS PAS fitted to the BB.

If it uses a torque system then it is a KT torque controller which wouldn't work with a standard KT display.
You may have to contact the supplier for compatible replacement parts .
Though better cleare pics might help us more to see.

KT cater for the non OEM market for kit bikes as well as OEM bikes for brands.
They also offer custom systems for OEM brands so the programming and software will differ from standard non OEM systems .
As an OEM system is doesn't go cap in hand that one can just buy any KT part.

We have see this with cyclotricity KT kits , the displays are custom programmed with an illegal 250w/1000w mode and a standard replacement KT LCD doesn't have the unlock mode for 1000w.

As I mentioned, I replaced the display with the exact some model of display (all the numbers matched) It is definitely using a torque system

I couldnt find anywhere in the UK that supplied such a display so I had to get it shipped from China

The manual pddf for your display should be available at the end of a google search the chenglish isnt too bad ;)

If the settings dont take then as suggested above the contrroller isnt likely to be a stock system. - a further circa £40 on a replacement KT controller running stock f/w and the hassle of replacing it on your bike should remedy the issue ..

Thanks guys. I just got a quote for £100 to install a new display, controller and PAS system so I think I may go with this option. I can see myself having further troubles with all these inside components in the future which seems is more difficult to work on

The OP's Vitesse Signal e-bike is on offer at Go Outdoors for £399.97 (subject to a £5 membership fee) here. Amazing bargain, despite having rim-brakes and a small battery. Both Amazon and GO say 5-levels of assistance.

High discount says not selling, but...fork looks to have disc caliper mount, and an external extra or larger battery could be added, so could be made quite good.

I can definitely say it has 5 power modes with a maximum speed of 15 MPH. I saw that £399 price and made some enquiries. Guess what, none in stock :) For that price I would just keep the same bike as a spare. I did however, find a new one on Ebay for the same price https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/276822849034 . If I was living closer to Leicester I would definitely take it subject to inspection.

Without seeing anything, I'd say tht you have the wrong speed sensor setting in the LCD. P2 should be 1 or 6. You should dowload the manual and go through all the settings to make sure that the others are right too. What speed is showing on the LCD? Does it look about right, does it always show close to zero or maximum speed?

What do you mean by "what speed is showing on the LCD" ? The maximum speed for this bike is 15 MPH so should I set that for the maximum speed? Thanks for the manual. You have just motivated me to try and get this thing working one more time. I would live to keep the bike as it is with the torque sensor rather than installing a new PAS system

this is the manual that actually came with the display but it is obviously much smaller than the one you provided

KT TS control systems are rare on the open market , some years ago BMSBattery were selling KT TS controller kits.
Typically though I would say a standard KT LCD won't wotk with aTS controller.
