Witnesses needed after e-bike robbery by gang of boys in Twyford
"One of the boys got off his bike and asked the victim if he could ride his e-bike, a bright yellow E-Box Dragster, but he declined.

The boy became more aggressive, pulled his top and revealed a silver knife handle.

The offender and two boys he was with surrounded the victim, and he handed over his e-bike key."

"Rated power 2.0KW (2.6hp)"

Oh look, another hubless e-bike – and this one's a folder!

Why do they have to do that? It's more expensive, less reliable, heavier, less efficient, harder to maintain and looks plain daft.

SRAM Eagle Transmission goes mechanical with Eagle 90 and 70 groupsets, but you can only buy the £655 Eagle 90 off-the-shelf

Stop posting paywall links....pls
Apart from the Telegraph and The Sun, a few others, links posted load up fine for me with no paywall, but I'm using a PC. I suppose you could put the website in question into "Desktop" mode via browser settings, for cookie selection? Sometimes that's waaay more onerous than it needs to be. Some websites will insist you view with their app (for far greater slurpage of personal data), when they detect the user is using a phone - for example TikTok insists you use their app, unless you view videos on their website in desktop mode. I hardly ever surf the net on phones and tablets unless unavoidable, too fiddly and annoying on multiple fronts. Internet access by phone or tablet ought to be banned - you used to be able to walk away from raving nutters, but now ranting nutters spewing nonsense are recorded and actively pushed at you on a continual basis to make money for the platforms and the nutter authors, so much so massive numbers of hapless users end up believing total crap, it stops the world working. To create chaos, all those mad social function challenged bastards ranting on street corners had to do, was find a way to shrink and live in your pocket; jump out of the gates ranting any time you were trying to do something productive.

I'm jealous of it's tyres, there's no way 2.6" Schwalbe Pick-ups will fit my 250W rated 36V Bafang BBS01B mid-drive 20" wheeled Dahon Helios P8 (mfd April 2006)...

...but I may someday be able to afford a Mac laptop, go bald become short sport a dumb looking beard, and fashion a rack to make my bike stand on end? Pretty sure this is the evil gimpy backwards speaking dwarf from Twin Peaks, the Tern GSD target demographic?

Without the sinister dwarf gimp. Mysteriously vanishes into thin air, just as in Twin Peaks.

Mine will have wheels underneath to roll the bike on-end around in shops - it'd be like dancing with a dead Dalek, but at least you don't have to leave it outside to be stolen.

Still, my bike hauls 180kg uphill, even with the controller limited to 15A. :p Now @20A :p :p For £909 :p:p:p 15.4% of the price :p:p:p:p All without snapping the handlebar :p:p:p:p:p

For the asking price of a £5,900 Tern GSD, I'd rather convert some sort of dead ICE microcar carcass to EV or die trying.

...or perhaps install a mid-drive, 20" wheels, shorter cranks, central frame hinge, and rear derailleur to a Kona Ute, if that'd work? Would the mid-drive motor sit too low?

Found the Amazon receipt today for my BBS01B kit, total cost of kit+bike was £809, not £909.
