I expect that when we get a photo, we'll see the battery in two halves, so that you don't have to carry the full weight for short journeys.
Looks like it, their other endurance models use twin 17 Ah batteries as seen in the photo below.

Interestingly another of these mountain sport endurance models has a 500 watt motor setup with the 34 Ah twin batteries, so for performance rather than range.

If the OP was about this bicycle I would have posted it in the appropriate forum.

For those who might be interested in the bicycle the previous 28Ah version has been on the market for nearly 2 years.

I tried to click on specification so as to review the content at that price level, but the click button 'specification' does not reveal the spec.
Unless i am missing something it does not list-
Frame size
Wheel size and type
Brake manufacturer
Tyre size and type
Weight
Speed or torque sensor
Cost of replacement batteries
EN 15194 certificate
Gearing system
Chainring spec.
Etc etc
These specifications and content have almost become de rigeur amongst the e bike suppliers. We have David Miall of Wisper to thank that we should all supply good spec details, his spec lists were the standard to which we should all try to achieve.
It is possible to build a bike that should sell fair value from £1k to £1.5 k using Chinese parts, above £1.5k the bike has to have exceptional content using parts not normally available in China, this bike is described as the best E-bike available so it must have some very special parts-you are in KTM/Bosch price levels, pretty strong competition.

It might be why they say:

It's just that the rhetoric suggests that these bikes are so superior that the rest of us might as well give up. Reading through the advertising hype it suggests that these bikes are the best in the world but the limited spec does not suggest that...Shimano Tourney 7 speed gears and index shifters are the gear selection that I would choose on a bike priced at less £1k.
Let's be honest the author of the hype doesn't exactly 'hide his light under a bushel'. It's easy enough to offer big batteries and big ranges, what is not so easy is to keep the weight down to keep the bikes handling well, most customers ride only 20 miles max on a commute so you are carrying around big weighty batteries when, most of the time, you don't need them.
We experimented with simulating the additional weight of a 15 Ah pod style battery mounted on the down tube, this has proven the best position for bike balance but even 5 Ah extra weight of battery affects noticeably the handling of the bike.

I can have a D-lock and spare battery (5 kgs) in one pannier and not even notice it at all.

If your extra 1.4 kgs ish in a central position on your bike has such an effect it would suggest to me that the bike isn't very balanced in the first place.

I'm not putting down the bike at all. I think that there's a place for everything. It's the wishy-washy inaccurate representation of it that I find uncomfortable. If they have the bike, why not show a photo of it? Are they not proud of it? What is there to hide? So let's have a proper photo, and then I'll be happy.

That site is a lot better from my point of view anyway, you can see the whole bike, full specs etc.
There was a thread on ES looking at how to make a bike do 100 miles, if I can find it I will post them the link, could be a good bike for e-touring.

I''m happy now with the representation of the bike. They just need to swap the motor for the "250W" BPM, like the one in the Kudos or Emotion Neos to make it a really good long distance tourer. Maybe it already has that motor because they don't show or say what it is. With the extra weight of the batteries, a SWX type motor would be a bit weak for me, especially when your legs are tired at the end of a long day.

Seeing as you have the ear of the gods there, Shemozzle, can you find out what it is? If it's not a BPM, or the big Dapu or similar, suggest to them to change it.

For me, long range would be my first preference as opposed to having a slightly better rear mech and chainset. It would be great to do around 60 miles on full power. I'm not too fussed about higher spec gear, it's always a case of diminishing returns and my cheap gear works just fine. If it packs up it should cheap to replace.

How heavy is 40ah of battery? I arsk because it appears to be on the rack.
The blurb claims the bike's so well balanced, you don't notice it.

My experience, with a 14ah battery on the rack over a beefy Ezee motor, is that you definitely will notice it's there on occasion:
I soon got used to it, but had a couple of incidents where , as I manoeuvered with feet on ground & bum off saddle; the front of the bike lifted a fraction off the ground & over we went  Not adding to my street cred one bit.

Presently awaiting my 2nd 14ah flatpack from John, it'll be "interesting" to see how 2x 14 ah & a 10ah battery feel on the rack & in the panniers - total weight 10.8kg, for 38ah.

I can't imagine anyone paying that much for that bike, way way over-priced for a cheap Chinese bike.

I have 2 batteries for my bike, that gives me 20ah. If I use both batteries I'd get between 70 and 90 miles depending on power level used. To buy a new bike like mine with 2 batteries is about £1170.

So, in theory, with 40ah I'd get up to 180 miles. Mind you, it would weigh more than you'd want it to.
I might need to buy a more comfortable saddle for the 180 mile days. ;)

I could probably get through a 40 ah battery in 70 miles if I chose a really hilly route around here in full power.

It's substantially battery cost for the two batteries. Depending on their battery pricing policy, it has between £600 and £900 worth of batteries.

Exactly. I don't see the £2,000 bike, all I see is a £600 bike.

40aH of 36v battery would weigh about 10 Kg, so about 6kg on the rear rack - maybe 7kg with that box as well.
