Hi all
My hubby & I bought the Ebco Eagle bikes about 18 months ago and up to yet we are very pleased with them. However just after the 12 months warranty my hubbies battery blew a charger. We tried the other charger and that blew as well. We returned them to the shop, Onbike, in Kidderminster and they tried the battery on their charger and this blew also.
They contacted the manufacturers in Warwick and they replaced both chargers and the battery. Since then we have had no problems but at the weekend we came to charge up the battery (mine this time) and this has now blown a charger. We have yet to contact Onbike or Ebco.
Has anyone had a similar problem with these Transx batteries?
Cheers

I've just bought an Ebco Eagle second hand on EBay with 2 chargers, one being for the continent as the bike originally came from Germany. On the 2 pin charger there is a warning not to use an extension lead when charging or it could cause damage. I haven't charged the battery yet as I've only cycled 40km and the indictor shows more than half full, but the Tranz X website does not list batteries and chargers as current products as I want a spare battery compartment key. I've mailed them (Taiwan) to clarify this and will reply if I hear anything. Bike is very impressive! Cheers, Mike Jones

That sounds absolutely absurd. The extension lead delivers 230v to the point where the charger plugs in. What's the difference when you already have wiring from your consumer unit to wall socket?
