Hi cazzie, I have a Woosh Zephyr (a little girlie folder! ) so I can't advise you directly on the bikes you mention, but both get good reviews on here. I can vouch for the customer service and general build quality and both are very good. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Woosh bikes. They do exactly what they're supposed to. I've ridden several of them including the Big Bear and Sirocco CD. The Big Bear has a big hub-motor with plenty of torque to help you up hills. The CD has a less powerful motor, but its power goes through the gears,so you can get a lot of torque, but you go slowly. You don't have to pedal as much with the Big Bear. The Big ear that I rode had forks that were a little too soft, but I heard that they've fixed that now.

Are they any good? Or are they naff?

Looking to get an electric bike that will get up very steep hills where I live. And I mean steep. All I want is to be able to get up the hills. A lot of bikes I've been looking at seem like they're fine for city living but I'm in the countryside and there's few bikes I've seen that sound capable - all well out of my price range .

I've got a budget of around £600-700 and it's looking like my only option is to get a kit and convert my current bike.

Will this cope? I know about the current road UK laws, this will not be used on roads.

It seems that a crank drive kit like the BBS01 would fit your requirement.
Big hills + heavey riders = allow 25A current draw, most 8-10AH bottle batteries won't be good enough.
You may have to get something like this:

You can buy the whole kit (BBS01, battery, rack) from BMSBATTERY
or get a £349 36V 15AH Samsung cell battery from Woosh. That's the battery they use on their Big Bear.
Whichever way, your £700 budget can't get you a good enough ready made bike but just about make it as a kit.

Cazzie. i have a woosh cd it dose what it says on the tin,i pedal up hills with it . try the woosh predictor it will give you not just route but steepest hill ect.
