Earls Court Cycle Show

Storck Raddar

It was great to be at The Earls Court Cycle Show and Showcase the Storck Raddar Multitask bike.
I enjoyed meeting and chatting with a very friendly bunch of people from the trade. Mark, David, Ralf, Sue and many others, plus soooo many potential customers on the indoor test track.
David, thank you for your kind comments about the Storck bike. We love yours too :)
I will be happy to answer any questions about Storck Raddar e-bikes and chatting anytime.
Kind Regards,
Ian Hughes, Storck Raddar UK Ltd.

Welcome Tappy, perhaps a link and some technical details about the Storck would be nice....the back slapping is all very well, but this is an enthusiast site and we like a little detail, motor, battery/ battery capacity/battery chemistry etc....etc.....

all I can find is a hopeless video from 2009 that tells me nothing?

price might be an idea as well:p

Not sure about the power Eddie, 24V and 10Ah Li Ion I think and it is rather expensive at about £2,700.00 for the basic and £1000.00 more for the carbon version. I liked it because it looked neat and rode more like an unpowered bike than any other electric bike I have come across.

I am an enthusiast!! :D

All the best

How can they be purchased in the UK, please?
Here is a link to a UK dealer poshbikes.com

I rode one on the rather short test track at Earls Court and have to say I was rather underwhelmed by the experience:( A longer ride in the real world may have given a better impression and I was comparing it to my old Bionx PL-350 powered bike which I sold a little while back. That was very quick indeed.
But, on paper, a Bionx PL 250-HT and nice bike of your choice would out perform the Storck and be considerably cheaper.

Thanks, Aldby.

A little disappointing to read that. But also somewhat relieved :) - it is rather expensive.

So Elektrorad Magazines conclusion that it outperformed all others tested indicates yet another e-bike test body with views that have to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Yes and no, I have not ridden this bike as yet, but have ridden and own a 53Nm Heinzmann conversion, with 15% hill climb and 15mph. It was perfect for towing my trailer, and I was very happy with that. It was not what I would describe as fast, reasonable acceleration, but I would normally pedal it faster than the 15mph.

It wasn't until I took it off road that I realised the power it had to offer. 15mph on road is no great shakes, but when on full throttle and high power mode on a 45 degree, heavily rutted narrow forest track ...it still tries to throw you up the hill at speed, you then realise what the electric mountain bikes are meant to do.:) and why it was fitted with a battery break away cable.

Do you have a website please?
The International website is here:

Storck Bicycle - Bike frames in perfection

Storck Raddar UK Ltd is the new distribution company to distribute the Storck City / Hybrid and e-bike range in the UK. The company has just been formed and is developing a UK website over the next few months.

Many thanks,
Ian

I am in the process of appointing a small number of Specialist e-bike retailers around the UK over the next 4 months. The bulk of the delivery of the Storck Raddar bikes are due early Spring 2011. A small number of bikes will be available from November.

Having spent many years in the Bicycle Trade (General Manager of SCOTT Sports SA, UK Branch) I know how important it is to offer a first class service to consumers (and Dealers). Plus build the Storck Brand and a strong business long term.

Cheers,
Ian

To clarify: Posh bikes are the UK distributor (and stockist) for Storck Carbon Road bikes. Storck Raddar UK Ltd are the UK distributor for Storck Hybrid / City and e-bikes.

The Bionx system is very good :) The Test track at Earls Court was rather short and twisty but it did give a good first impression to (just about) everyone who rode the Storck Bike.

Cheers,
Ian

Ian,

The Storck is a nice well made bike and I am sure many people will like it, but I am also sure the price will put many people off when for half the money good bikes with similar performance are available.

Bikes over £2000 need to be exceptional and offer something special to make people part with their cash. I would suggest an introductory price tag of £1999 for a limited period to get the ball rolling or should I say Storck wheels rolling.

That's a very different thing from the Swiss motor recommendation I commented on though, the Heinzmann I certainly wouldn't criticise as lacking power, climb or towing ability, it being one of the better motors in that respect.
