E-Go Max

Featured Replies

I am hoping to buy a longish range folding ebike. I am only 5ft tall. Though I love the wisper I cannot justify the extra expense. I am thinking of the E-go max as it is suitable for people of 5ft which I am. Range is around 60 miles which I think would be perfect for someone wanting to do a max of 50 miles in a day. Is E-go a good make and reliable ? And does anyone have experience whether their proposed range is realistic for an average rider using only low assist. Or are there any better recommendations upto £1600 . Thank you.

Their range is quoted as 'up to' 90m (56 miles). That will be good flat roads with minimal assist, no wind, etc. Realistically it will be 1/3 to 1/2 of that.

Look at https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/service/range-assistant to get an idea of expected range; even though it's for Bosch it gives a pretty reasonable idea, and a very good idea of the difference for different conditions. Type in the most optimistic (minimal assist, slow riding, flat) with the 500wh battery with a fat tyre bike and you'll get around 100km. Change the settings to hillier riding a little faster with slightly more assist and you'll find it quickly drops below 50km.

The battery is quite good for a folding bike. 50 miles will feel like a long ride on most folders.
