I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you make an arse of yourself by riding irresponsibly, or go zipping around at ridiculous speeds, there are too few police with too little time on their hands to go stopping e-bikes like ours and looking at them in any depth. In the highly unlikely event you do get stopped and they question you about the LCD speed, you point out it is not a calibrated device and is not accurate.

Mind you, posting your video on a public forum with your phone showing you going at 20 mph, I can only assume that you were so scared you were on adrenalin and the motor was completely off at that speed ;-)
When did I do that? My DPC-18 is set for km/h, which can be seen if you pause and zoom/screencap zoom in while playing any of my vids (there's a 1080p setting in Vimeo) when that small region of the display is visible. The only time I exceed 25km/h is downhill, after assistance has cut off. Not guilty your honour.

Oh and occasionally I manage to exceed 25km/h using leg muscles (my own), after assistance has stopped at 25km/h - I do that to get a bit of exercise, because otherwise I don't get any whatsoever because of how I've set up my bike'sfirmware, because I like to arrive at work not sweaty and in need of a shower.

EDIT: From unadulterated footage:

Downhill (aided in large part by gravity)

...downhill with more tyre pressure. Rock steady Dahon Helios P8 folding bike

My bad, your LCD is so fancy it looks like a phone app and assumed you'd be using mph :)

It was 0.5mph too slow when the display was set to "Imperial" units. The DPC-18 only does integers. Weirdly, I can actually feel the difference.

" No occifer, my display contains an atomic clock synchronised via quantum micro wormholes to GPS satellites, for absolutely accurate speed and positioning. More accurate than the speedos your tin pot pig wagons." ;)

Well, it's as legal as I can make it. That'll do bike, that'll do.

its not that as it is in the public interest to do you for it when there are twats flying round going 50mph and camped out every fast food outlet and plod not interested.

if the cps says no that's it esp if not in the publics interest no matter what the law says.

bbshd phase runner is the way to go or you can get a 52v controller https://www.cogsygogs.co.uk/shop/bafang-screens-extras/controllers/bafang-bbshd-52v-version-b-controller/

What a cop says and does on the roadside will be scrutinised at a granular level by practioners of the law after the fact, not least by my lawyer, to free FREE my bike from bike prison. My 2006 Dahon Helios P8 Bafang 36V 250W 25km/h BBS01B folding bike conversion will prevail!

Tell me about it, I died last year. Took my disembodiment ages to develop strong enough telekinetic powers to push keys on a keyboard. No laughs being a poltergeist I can tell you.

p.s. WOOOOO!

We can always revert to living in caves and eating nettles. Good nutrition, higher in protein than I expected:

Buy my NFT. It'll be worth billions of digital Mumbonotes in just a few short years. A much safer investment than bricks and mortar, I highly recommend buying Mumbonotes .

I'm not printing money - Russians around here do that, and always £50 notes. Russians try to pay me with those all the time, it's a right pain.

They're all printers? Thanks for telling me, it's pointless stealing another JCB now, would spill the toner and mix colours. That's saved me a lot of time and diesel. I'll let the gang know that job is off. Every day really is a school day on this forum.
