if you open the motor you void the warranty same for dealers they cant touch them and have to be sent back to bosch if there is a problem.

if my motor fails now then i have to send it back so i can buy a new one out of warranty and there 600 quid.

also i never bought the bike new and got it of ebay for 3500 with 160 miles on it ;)

the 500w batt cost more at 700 quid and have one of those i forgot to add but all the motors are around the same price.

just bosch want the old one back b4 you can buy a new one. tho i could fit the new cx motor as its the same mounting points.

it should last a lot longer than that the batts are what kills it price wise there a rip off.

if you have full sus take off the plastic guard above the ses wheel as it strips the chain of lube and covers it in crud.

Top tip there, also makes a lot of noise as chain goes over it! I did read that you cab change the battery cells yourself which will save you hundreds!

you cant change the cells the bms is password protected and only bosch has that and the software to get in to it.

if you try it will not charge or power on removing the bms is not an option either.

no one has managed to crack it yet why i have a dongle.

no it removes the speed limit it dont give you any more power tho. top speed today was 35 mph on the flat.

1mph more and the dongle cuts out so got the gears just right for me now.

you wont get to cut off speed unless you have a bigger sprocket so use 18t on flat and can then change to the 15t for up hills.

also in the 18t can use more of my cassette gears ;)

faster you go the faster it drains the batt i find over 25mph and it starts to hammer it.

i can drain a 400w batt in less than an hour.@ 50mph the range would be about 10 miles if ur lucky and super man.

max size is 22t x2.5 like a 55t on a normal bike

Chain arrived today, changed it out and still the same so I decided to take a trip to Halfords £50 and a new casette later everything is good again. I cleaned and checked that bearing today and all seems fine however I've bookmarked that page and will order a replacement.

put some grease on the back of the bearing so to stop any more crud getting in it so get a few more miles out off it.

Some great advice thanks SW. My SES bearing has just popped and the Andrenalin ones are on backorder. I guess these are just standard bearings - does anyone know of the size or an alternative source for a replacement?

Many thanks all.
