Does anyone know how to dismantle the throttle on on a Viking E-go?

A relative has got a problem with the power cutting out on his Viking E-go. We suspect that there could be a broken wire where the cable enters the "throttle"/battery level indicator as the cable is hanging out by its wires and he says it started working when he pushed the cable sheathing into the control.

I tried prying the case open, but there was no sign of any clips giving, so it might be glued, although I could feel a recess under the front label which might conceal a screw (under the "980" marking), but the size and positioning makes me think it is quite likely to be an unused hole for a third membrane switch.

So I thought I'd ask before I damage it by using more force, or rip off the front label which may hold leaf switches in place.

Cheers! Mel.

clip on cover that is permanently glued to the body.
It's not a serviceable part.
You can try aralditing the cable to the plastic casing.

Why are you so sure it is the led panel problem? It could be the controller or battery to cause the cut off

Thanks, I feared as much. I've stuck the cable in with heat glue for the time being. I guess I'll have to take a saw to the case if it proves to be the problem.

I don't for sure, as I wasn't able to open it up to inspect and secure the wiring.

Use a multimeter to check the voltage of your battery first to see if there is a problem with the battery

Bit late updating this :) but, turned out it wasn't a broken wire in the control. The key switch wasn't making a reliable contact causing an occasional brief interruption in the power, a spray with wd40 got it working until recently. As it started playing up again I pried out the plastic disc from the key switch and cleaned the corrosion off the contact and applied lots of dielectric grease and taped it up with self amalgamating tape to keep any moisture out.
