Hi Pedelecers,

We are in the process of setting up a new service center to look after Wisper bikes somewhere in the UK.

The problem we face is that the job is not yet full time as there are not enough bikes that need attention. However we expect this to change next year as we launch our new range and start advertising and marketing in earnest.

We need someone knowledgeable enough about bikes in general and electric bikes in particular to speak to customers if they have problems.

We would set up a workshop locally to suit.

Some of my typos on here and elsewhere have been quite astonishing.

I'm no mechanic David, but I AM a good salesman, although I say it myself. I have been a self employed wholesaler for the past 35 years or so, and as you will know, wholesaling is another word for ''shifting it''! Confidence and enthusiam in the product can naturally be reflected to the customer and is a great advantage in selling; I've got great enthusiasm in the Wisper, but I don't have too much time, still, if your ever stuck for a relief or perhaps part time saleman occasionally - give me a shout?

Many an owner is probably part of your indirect sales force, David. You could have a promotion code on your website and allow promotees, to whom you have given a unique code to offer say 5% off retail and then give them 5% for their efforts.

All good for business provided it does not upset any existing retailers.

Around here you have a good mechanical back up arrangements with the knowledgeable guys at the Electric Transport Shop in Cambridge, who are also conquering London and Oxford.

All depends on your preferred business model. Decisions.decisions,decisions!!

Makes a lot of sense for a product like ebikes from small manufacturers eg 50cyles should do this.

Hi guys,
Normally I just read the forum but I feel like I have to defend the company I work for in this thread.

I work for The Electric Transport Shop in Cambridge and I feel that I am knowledgable about bikes, let me tell you about myself.

I left school and wasn't ready to go to sixth form so I got a job in halfords cycle dept where I worked for 5 odd years then to advance my carrerer I went and worked for Ison Distribution as their mechanic, I helped design the Identiti Jekyll one of the best BSX frames available, along with several other products including Halo wheels. I was also Team Identiti's race mechanic, Nothing makes you work faster and harder than having a burly downhill rider looking over your shoulder while you work on his bike as he's waiting for you to repair the damage he's done in his first race before his second race starts. After working for Ison and their sister companies including a bike shop that has been in business for over 100 years and sell more family style bikes. I then went on to work for Route One which was at the time the UKs largest extreme sports chain as guess what? A bike mechanic selling BMXs to the entire of the UK all bike work for the entire chain was carried out by myself untill they went bust earlier this year. I was flipping through the local paper and an advert cought my eye. It was for the Electric Transport Shop, I was interested and got the job.
I think I've probably clocked up around 25 thousand hours with a spanner in my hand and thats only when I've been getting paid for it.

All the guys that work for us are of a high standard of ability when it comes to working on bikes much better than alot of the places I've worked, and I believe these comments are unfair.

I AM knowledgable about bikes and have built this up over a long time picking very carefully who I work for.
I would not be working here if I didn't believe in electric bikes and the Electric Transport Shop.

David I am happy to pass all this experience on to all the Wisper customers who walk through my door. We do this already and as I tap this message out I have Johnofcambridge's bike in for some work with me as we discussed earlier in the week.

Sorry to go on a bit I just wanted to let you all know who I am.
