April 20, 20206 yr I know they ahver been out over 100 years but this company says thiers really do work better than round chainrings https://absoluteblack.cc/
April 20, 20206 yr Sure they would a bit like the good old days of biopace from shimano (1983-1993)i imagine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biopace Edited April 20, 20206 yr by scott gaza
April 20, 20206 yr This is another answer to a question no one was asking. They pop up every twenty years going back to the 1890's. They die out in a year or two. Just like all things cycling related are magnified in an e-bike, so are bad ideas. An e-bike performs best when you spin with a smooth and even stroke. These are made to take advantage of mashing during that piece of your stroke where you are using the largest muscle group. They slack/loose chains and tear up drive trains as well. They are an all around bad idea
April 20, 20206 yr I had oval rings back in the 80's myself. I can't say I ever noticed any difference from a normal circular ring.
