Diy panniers

I bought some cheap panniers and there rubbish,when it rains they are like a sponge.Ideally i love some Ortlieb roll tops but there to expensive.I have seen some Ortlieb dry bags which are bassically the same for £20 each.I could then buy pannier mounting kits for £26.Do you think dry bags would work as they are a round shape?.Has anyone made there own panniers?

There not waterproof,id like that. Mine were sold as water resistant but no good when it peeing down.

The specifications state that they are waterproof and the reviews appear to back this up.

You could just stick the drybags inside the rubbish panniers

They are advertised as water resistant, with the material advertised as waterproof. They probably don't have taped seams or equivalent to make them waterproof?

Can you give a pointer please? I can't see those. (I know the velcro fixing on our Basil is quite awkward. Not really an issue for us as we don't take it on and off much

Thanks, it was the 2x22L that looked interesting, but I think it must have been a typo for 2x20L. Our current Argos panniers were old many years ago, and are now very old, but they were very cheap and do have lots of flexible capacity.
