Disk brakes

I dont think tis has been asked before appologies if it has (just point me at it). Is there a special tool needed to remove Tektro disks (because my 4 mm allen key wont fit). If so whats it called. Please see atachd photo.

Yes, they're Torx screws, so you need the right size Torx driver or bit for them. I can't remember the size, but I think might be T25. It's standard for bike brakes, so you can find it on any cycling website, or, better still, get a set because they're useful for other things.

When removed replace with allen bolts, much easier

Imv Torx screws are much better though as Allen keys can round off on the ends.

Confusing when first encountered, but very common nowadays. The driver bits or torx drivers are readily available from "all mainstream tool suppliers".... famous last words!

Agree. Much less damage with Torx, as there is more surface area for the tool to grip on.

Another plus for Torx is the more limited range of sizes compared with Allen keys, where I almost never pick the correct size until the second or third attempt.
