derestrict

Featured Replies

I realise you get the same question repeatedly but as a newbie I really appreciate all you experienced cyclist knowledge.

I have just purchased an oxygen ebike and through much looking at you tube etc, came across a video about derestricting it.

Please does this give pedal assist al the time, and does it damage components, intrigued newbie.

Yes

And no, or very little at any rate. If you include the battery then constant use over shut off at 15mph

Nothing changes except the speed. The only downside is that you use up the battery faster, which should be obvious.

You can set the speed of the throttle and pedal sensor separately.

No harm will come to the bike if you derestrict it, since the current is always lower above 15 mph.
