Hi, i have a bike that looks identical to this but it's limited to 15 mph max , how is this bike able to go 20 mph off-road speed ? its the same motor same voltage, is there a hidden switch or mod , ive seen bikes on ebay that look 100% the same specs and everything and got 20 mph off road speed??? so im just curious how to unlock the extra speed ,it says it's 36 volt although battery display on bike reports 42 volt on full charge 200 watt brushless motor , i only get about 19-22 kph most of the time so would be great if i could get up to 20 mph out of it , it feels like the motor is stopping the bike when i go down hill so theres def some restricting going on

anyone able to help me out ?

would i have to mod the controller in some way ?

how would i access the controller

i do not want to risk any damage to the bike it cost me £600 a month ago

It comes out of the motor controller, which is at the other end of the motor cable. If they're already disconnected and your bike is restricted, connect them.

So, to resurrect this thread, I have a Erider Model 18 & would really like to get it deristricting. Having read the above comments the only white wire I found was from the throttle to a 3 wire connector (see photo). I disconnected (cut) it, connected the battery & switched on the ignition. Twisted the throttle & nothing, no turning of the motor, connected back again in a choccy block & tested, run as it did originally at 25kph. The white wire that goes to the connector changes to a blue/white wire that goes to the multi-pin connector at the other end where it connects to where the motor terminals are connected (see pic). There’s no other white wire so if anyone has any more info on this subject it would be very much appreciated

On the Erider 15 it’s a white wire , on the 18 is there a single blue wire (Controls box) If so try disconnect/cut that - if not reconnect it .

You shouldn't start cutting and disconnecting wires on your bike then trying to run it when you don't know what you're doing. You can do some serious damage like that. You're lucky your controller didn't blow when you tried to run it with that blue phase wire lifted. That's if it hasn't.

If there were a speed limit wire, it's a jumper that works like a switch. The wire has to come out of the controller and go back in. When the switch is on (wires joined) the controller gives one condition, and when they're separated, it gives another. It would either be a loop of wire or two single wires with matching connectors. The key point is that the two wires come from the controller and go back in, not run from one device to another.

Thanks for the advice saneagle, much appreciated.
having been unable to find a wiring diagram for the bike (not for the lack of trying) that’s why I took to this forum for some help & was going by suggestions already offered. Fortunately the bike still runs ok.
But thanks again , I will have a look fora loop wire (I assume it will go in & out of the multi plug on the controller). All I’m trying to achieve is that if I can definitely derestrict it I will then get it registered (which I don’t want to waste money on if it can’t be done) so I can travel further quicker now circumstances have changed since I 1st bought it.
I know if it goes quicker the battery will drain quicker too but that’s not an issue for me
