Daytime Lights

I think it's because they're mounted so low, they reflect horribly off a wet road surface.
On Friday 8:50am a 68 year old cyclist was Killed when a lorry pulled out on him just round the corner from where I work. This could have been me as I'd passed the same route 20 minutes before. So I've just purchased some additional lights which I will be running during the day in strobe mode to hopefully make me stand out a bit more. They have single cree 0.5w bulbs and are quite noticeable during daylight in strobe mode.

As for most of us weight is not a problem (i.e. being ebike riders) I'd go for a system like MagicShine. Very bright even in daylight, either on full-beam, dip or strobe. I have a white one on my handlebars, and a red version mounted to the back of my helmet (runs off the same battery pack).
The battery pack is mounted on the crossbar, which means leads running in both directions, but again, as ebike riders we're used to wires!
There are Youtube videos of the MJ818 showing just how bright it is. Expensive (the front light was about £75, the helmet extension another £50) although you could pay a lot more.

Talking of lights and safety, isn't the idea to simply make yourself MORE visible.
In which case, bright flashing lights, highish (in drivers' eyeline), must be good. Those slowly rotating amber lights on top of utility vehicles seem to work (although I recently came across a complaint on another bike forum that yellow was an absurdly unfashionable colour for raingear).
I wonder which work best, front or rear flashing lights?
