...encroachments into ASL by drivers and especially by motorbikes - blatant removal of my right of way just because I don't matter etc etc.
The ASL's are as much or more useful to motorbikes and they cause little obstruction to bicycles. As a motorcyclists and cyclist i use them on both forms of transport routinely. Ideally they should be marked for all two wheels traffic, so that they have a safe area after filtering through a queue.

Starting from inbetween two car's front wings just isnt an option. I will intentionally cross the stop line even if there's no ASL to avoid that. The law is one thing, but i put my own safety first.

Yes, filtering down between cars to get stuck behind a motorbike who doesn't dare use the ASL isn't helpful to anyone.

Using a motorcycle though usually means even the low powered ones can gun it from the start line to get ahead.
I can keep up with most moderate car drivers off from the lights (Untill they change to second) but then your stuffed :(

Sometimes I don't even bother filtering if I know the lights will change soon and that car thats just over took me has to over take again. Its just makes them all a little annoyed and I feel they might give me a nudge lol.

It beggars belief that these things are put in for cyclists saftety but then we get barged out of the way by motorcyclists breaking the law...and I love the bit about you putting your safety first.

..and doesn't rather defeat the whole point of the box to filter down to the front and finding it full of motorcyclists - doing it for their safety of course!
