What an absolute disgrace.

The helmet debate will roll on...

But what about the 2nd. Objection - Thou shalt cycle not more than half a metre from the edge of the carriageway?

I've always understood the dft to reccommend cycling at least 60cm from the edge & 1 metre for visibility, particularly when approaching a pinch situation.

Gutter cycling invites close passing, and what happened to "If it's not safe to enter the adjacent lane, it's Not safe to overtake"?

And what about the open top car passing her? Wouldn't that be dangerous for the driver's head if it rolled over in an accident?

Of course they didn't notice that, evidencing the pro-car anti-cycling attitude that's so common. I'm betting those making the banning decision are all car drivers who never cycle.

Hopefully Cycling Scotland will pursue the matter. In the meantime expect to see all drivers in adverts dressed like this:

Because, of course, the ASA won't apply double standards, will it?

There second objection that she was too far from the curb forcing the car into oncoming traffic seems very unfair. The car has given her a full car-width of clearance, and still his off-side wheels haven't crossed the white line.
