Hi everyone, I bought a 2010 cyclamatic power plus back in November of 2009. Living in Phoenix, Arizona and putting over 3,500 hard miles in the first 2 1/2 years. I've replaced the front forks, 2 sets of front rims, battery, planetary gears in the rear hub. ( I replaced the nylon gears with a bronze alloy, cut on a CNC Wire EDM machine.) This bike has been through 3 bike vs. car, (one truck ) accidents. I'm not a very good rider I guess. Anyway to the point. I am a good size guy 6'3" 285lbs with out the back pack. I've been able to find and fix everything else on this bike. Personally I think the frame is great and the rest can be upgraded. EXCEPT this axle. measuring the broken one I got 158.86mm.
I've looked and looked but have had no success. Somebody, anybody please help me

My front rim has now done 6000 miles and nothing wrong with it, never replaced it. Shocks are in a shocking state though. Had to get my bottom bracket cut and shut at workshop after a fight with a log bent end over - £100.

Could you pm me who made cogs for you. DO NOT SPRAY WD40 ON NYLON COGS - DISASTER. USE SILICONE GREASE.

My guess would be that you just need the correct spindle length(bike shops call it a spindle not an axel). I would also suggest you switch from cups and bearings to a cartridge BB. Any local bike shop should be able to swap it out, some charge lots of labour as it's a simple job that looks complicated.

If you want to try do it yourself(it sounds like you ride lots so I guess your local bike shop is rich by now or you fix stuff at home). I would suggest you get a crank extractor/puller to take the cranks off then measure the spindle(if it's snapped push it back into shape and get as close you can). Then you need one of them BB sockets to get the cups out and stuff and the cartridge one just bolts in really easily.

Shopping for one I'm not sure about american bike shops but amazon maybe?

Amazon.com: Shimano UN55 BB Square Taper Bottom Bracket: Sports & Outdoors

You don't need all the tools just on the left the large red 8mm hex with square adapter, on the left in the middle at the top the black crank puller and then on the far right the silver bb tool(larger socket thing).

Hope that helps.

Clockwise is correct - you should easily be able to replace with a shimano cartridge.

That's a good suggestion for most bikes with non-cartridge BBs; however, according to OP, his needs to be 158mm. Sickbikeparts are the only cartridge one I've ever seen that long.

I'm going to take a wild guess that the measurement includes the crank bolts/cranks on the outsides.
