Hi everyone,

I've just bought an Alien Aurora second-hand from everyone's favourite auction site *tries to curb excitement* I've subsequently discovered that the delivery firm I trusted to take good care of my bikes has apparently gone out of business, so can anyone recommend a good company to ship an e-bike from Brentwood to West Yorkshire? I don't know how much, if any, prepping the seller will be willing to do.

Many thanks

Ian

Hi Nekobus
We regularly fetch and carry down to London from Buxton. Gladly pick it up for you and drop it off for our normal delivery charge of £30. Email us if you're interested.

I've used CityLink previously to send a full size MTB..cost around £21 as I recall..they are one of the few couriers will transport packages that long..you will need the seller to put it in a cardboard box which can be had from any local bike shop.. get your seller to bubble wrap the frame, secure any metal parts down and reinforce the bottom and sides with loads of plenty of packaging tape and indicate which way up the box should be.. they tend to man-handle the boxes a bit and drag them along the road..

The alternative is to use a smaller specialist carrier I guess, "man and a van" type thing where you won't need to package it, but expect to pay around £30-£40 as a minimum for a service like that..and maybe wait a bit longer to get it.. shiply.com is a good place to post your request and get competitive quotes from smaller specialised carriers..

EDIT: Oops didn't see Juicy's post...that sounds like a very reasonable offer and who better to transport it :)
