Hi all I am new and got a couple of questions, Bought my self a woosh scirocco sirocco | Electric Bikes from Woosh | electric bike sales & hire

Now my intention was to hitch the trailer off my touring bike to it, weight of trailer is 10kgs
and use it for moving rubbish to the tip and picking up 20kg duckfeed bags etc.
When I mentioned this in the shop they said that it would be too heavy and they could not guarantee the motor for that. I have seen a lot of threads regarding trailers with electric bikes but just wanted to check what the risks are, or do i need a different motor?
it is a lightweight Bafang 8-Fun brushless rear hub motor rated 250W, 500W on startup.

Ok 2nd question not as important but a bit of a niggle. is there a way to cancel the pedal assist and just go on throttle when i need it, it is not an option on the handlebar control so I am looking at snipping wires I should imagine.
Thanks for any replies

What's the max max rated rider weight? Most are 105kg.

So what would the difference be say betweeb a 75kg rider + 30kg trailer?

FYI, my tongxin powered Trex FX 7.5 copes fine with me @ 100kg + 3.8kg of battery, 2kg for the motor and 2kg in the pannier (work laptop).

on their website they say 15 stone, I would be pedaling as well so I assume that would help take the load off the motor
thanks for answer amiga

I know that bikes will vary in their wiring, but I did this on my folding bike by identifying the wires to and from the pedal sensor and connecting them; i.e. bypassing the sensor. I also inserted an on/off switch to give a choice of pedelec or not.

All trailer seem super heavy.

Do you know of any trailer that would weight less than 5 kg at convenient price?

Eliminating the pedal sensor is often not straight forward. If is a hall type device with 3 wires , you can not do it with a switch. You would need to build an electronic circuit which "immitates" the output of a sensor . This has been previously discussed.
