big help needed my daughter is disabled and cannot pedal due to joint issues , with the e hub kits pas would not be used at all - can these kits be used as just electric powered ? using thumb speed control and brake cut-off ??? she only needs to travel about 2 miles round trip to the shops and back and would greatly help her independence. ps i am talking tricycle here not 2 wheels.

One could use a thumb throttle or twist action throttle, though they are illegal it is highly unlikely as a disabled person one would be prosecuted.
Beware though that some plod forces may confiscate the bike if caught or my get a way with a warning.
To be legal one can have the bike put thru an SVC (single vehicle certification) a one off process for a V5 certificate , cost is fairly small for the licensing process.

Is an e-trike a good idea, I have only had very limited experience with rigid frame trikes, but the outstanding memory is how BAD it was at cornering.. If determined i would consider investing in a kt brand controller so you can not only configure the bike to run without the need for pas input and allow the throttle speed control, but can also limit the speed and even the power output too to ensure your daughter isnt faced with a hard right or left turn at 15mph

Get a mobility scooter. They're allowed to do 4 mph on the footpath and 8mph on the road. Something like this:
